About Me

I approach research with a conviction that data is never just numbers. Every data point, every trend, every insight carries the story of human experiences, people’s hopes, lived contexts, and journeys, and I believe stewarding “the numbers” well truly means putting the human experience at the heart of my research.

Stories shape people, and they shape the organizations and ministries that seek to serve them. My work isto help leaders listen and attend to those stories well, and respond with clarity and purpose.

Professionally, I bring a decade of experience in research, analytics, and strategy—most recently serving as the lead in audience insights for a major nonprofit. I’ve guided organizations through questions of growth, sustainability, and impact, and always with an eye toward what really matters: connecting mission with people.

But the beneath the data gathering, the reports and analyses, my calling is personal. I see research as a ministry of discernment, stewarding organizations’ hard work, helping others recognize what’s true, how to name what’s changing in the landscape they find themselves in, and to find the courage to take the next faithful step.

My mission isn’t just to hand you a report or a deck. I'm here because your mission matters, and I want to help you and those who invest in you to see it more clearly.

My Work

I've spent the last ten years studying how people engage with faith, culture, and community — and helping organizations use that knowledge well.

As a lead researcher at a social research firm, I designed and helped lead national studies on congregational health, pastoral leadership, and generational trends in faith.

Currently, I lead the audience insights function at a major non-profit, translating complex data into strategy for one of the most influential religious media organizations in the country.

I hold an M.A. from Duke University with a focus on religious trends and American public life, and I currently serve on the board of a nonprofit, where I oversee impact evaluation and reporting strategy.

I have appeared on a number of podcasts, and my work has been cited in numerous media outlets including Religion News Service, the Christian Broadcasting Network, and ScrippsNews.

I also dabble in photography. Please enjoy this (amateur) photo from The Lake District, UK; one of my favorite places.
